Fountains and ponds are a way of life for Aquatic Gardens

If you’re from the Birmingham area, you’re probably familiar with the work of Chuck Thomas, fisheries biologist and owner of Aquatic Gardens. Thomas and his team of experts have successfully completed projects all over the city and beyond.

“We’ve done just tons and tons of stuff,” Thomas said. “We’ve done everything from the zoo to waterfalls at the Leeds shopping center to simple ponds.”

While Thomas’ business is well-known for local landmarks like the River Otter exhibit at the Birmingham Zoo and the waterfalls at the Outlet Shops at Grand River, many people are unaware that Aquatic Gardens also offers a large selection of Japanese koi and goldfish, along with everything necessary to keep them healthy and thriving.

Thomas, who graduated with a degree in fisheries biology from Auburn, combined his biology background with his experience in commercial construction to build a business that services a broad variety of water garden needs.

“I enjoy the creativity of it,” Thomas said. Aquatic Gardens specializes in quality, heavy duty stone concrete fountains and planters that last for generations. In addition to selling beautiful fountains and planters, Aquatic Gardens can also construct garden and koi ponds and help with pond maintenance and cleaning.

For all the DIY customers looking to create their own unique outdoor areas, the staff at Aquatic Gardens holds seasonal pond building seminars. Clients can find everything they need for their new ponds at the shop, including liners, skimmer boxes, pumps and filters, UV systems, underwater lighting and more.

The team at Aquatic Gardens is ready to answer any question customers might have, whether they’re purchasing a fountain, building their own pond, or adding water lilies and other aquatic plants to their outdoor space.

Thomas is committed to providing excellent customer service and quality products and installations.
