Mother-daughters team bring boutique fashion to Chelsea.
The Ditsy Daisy was founded in 2011 by a mother-daughters team, Cindy Parnell and her daughters Michelle Butts and Lindsey Parnell.
The Ditsy Daisy is the first of its kind in Chelsea. Michelle and Cindy transformed an old KFC building into a boutique that sells women’s clothing, shoes accessories, and small gift items.
The shop started with a small amount of inventory but now offers many different price points, sizes and styles.
“We’ve been able to add some really great brands that are exclusive to our area,” Michelle said. “It’s great offering things so customers don’t have to go over the mountain to purchase something they want.”
Some of the popular brands The Ditsy Daisy carries include Free People, Dear John, Antelope, OTBT and more.
For Michelle, running the store doesn’t feel like work. “We enjoy going to work every day,” she said. “Whether it’s completely styling someone, helping someone have a little retail therapy, or just meeting new people, we enjoy it.”
The mother-daughter team chose Chelsea because there weren’t any boutiques in the area. Since opening, they’ve developed relationships with many of their customers, some of whom drive a good way to shop with them.
“The relationships with our returning customers, knowing their styles, and being able to help them personally, is something we take pride in,” Michelle said.
“We meet new people every day but there’s definitely a small-town feel,” she said. “Chelsea has supported us for many years now — it’s just been a great location and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
